Amid hardship and loss, Laya dreams of learning the traditional Pandanggo dance with the help of her older sister. But when their father, a construction worker, fails to return home, their family is overcome with uncertainty and grief. As they struggle to find hope and healing, Laya discovers that true light is found not only in dance, but also in the strength, love, and unity of family.
About the Artist
Founded in 1987 as the resident theater company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Tanghalang Pilipino is the country’s designated National Performing Arts Company for Theater. Under the artistic direction of Fernando C. Josef, it is renowned for promoting culturally rooted, contemporary Filipino works performed primarily in the native language. Distinct for maintaining its own subsidized full-time Actors Company, the group boasts a legacy of over 270 productions and a deep commitment to national audience development and professional theater education.
