About the Artist
Teyatro Dasuliman is the official resident theater company of Jose Rizal Memorial State University in Dapitan City, founded in 2016 by Jann Dainver L. Maravilla. Rooted in the vision of “healing through the arts,” the company blends the Cebuano term for theater with a historic nickname of Dr. Jose Rizal to symbolize its commitment to therapeutic stage productions. Home to over 80 performing artists, the group creates culture-sensitive, socially relevant plays deeply inspired by the Central Subanen culture of Zamboanga del Norte. Their award-winning research-based productions actively contribute to the robust tradition of Philippine culture and arts on both national and international stages.
