Amda’ di akdanol sarang dadarisi is a poignant cultural production that chronicles the shared tragedy and enduring triumph of the Blaan and Sangil indigenous communities following a catastrophic earthquake. Through a vibrant tapestry of traditional art forms—including the Blaan’s Madal Kafi eagle dance, the Sangil’s Pangalay, and evocative faglong music—the performance charts a journey from devastating loss to communal healing. Bound by their rich heritage and guided by their datus, the two communities choose unity and artistic expression over despair. Ultimately, the production celebrates a resilient spirit that transcends disaster, proving these communities to be proud keepers of culture determined to rise again.

About the Artist

The Kabpapagariya Ensemble is the official performing arts group of Mindanao State University – General Santos City. Founded in 1983, its name derives from the Maguindanaon and Meranaw word pagari, meaning “brotherhood” or “friendship.” The ensemble integrates theater, music, and traditional indigenous dance to showcase rich cultural heritage while promoting peace, unity, and social awareness across Mindanao.
