Teatro Ambahanon

Silopin (Cellophane) and other dances

September 13, 2026 (Sunday) 1:30 – 2:00 PM

Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez – Auditorium

Written and choreographed by Ralph Malaque, Silopin (Cellophane) is one of Teatro Ambahanon’s most celebrated works, touring nationwide and featured in the NCCA’s Tanghal Festival. This poignant social commentary depicts street youth using solvent fumes to escape hunger and misery, slipping into vivid computer-game fantasies. The piece uniquely fuses humor with movements inspired by Budots, a street-dance style created by out-of-school youth.
