Hukuman ni Banahaw is a multidisciplinary performance framed as a symbolic tribunal contesting the privatization and exploitation of Mt. Banahaw. Through poetic testimonies and monologues, the narrative centers on the collective voice of the people, exploring how imposed “progress” impacts communities deeply tied to the land. Driven by four actors, the piece powerfully embodies the shifting perspectives of the Land, the People, the Ancestors, and the Tribune to confront urgent issues of environmental and cultural preservation.
About the Artist
LIMUYAT Inc. is a dynamic, non-government, and non-profit youth organization composed of multi-disciplinary artists—including writers, performers, and visual artists—from Lucena City and Region IV-A. Operating as a collective dedicated to creative advocacy, the group actively promotes local heritage through vibrant live performances, community outreach, and cultural festivals. Their mission is deeply rooted in fostering the creative potential of the youth while preserving and elevating local artistic traditions on both grassroots and national platforms, such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
