Founded in 1998 by Ms. Elenita E. Cruz, the Marikina Dance Guild (MDG) promotes Filipino culture through folk, jazz, street, and contemporary dance. The company actively engages communities through workshops, lecture-demos, and outreach performances, partnering with major cultural and educational institutions such as the NCCA, CCP, DepEd, and DOT. Over the years, MDG has earned significant national and international acclaim. The company represented the Philippines at the 2018 ASEAN Ethnic Festival in Thailand and won the 38th Philippine Folk Dance Competition in 2019. Honored with an NCCA Meritorious Award for its digital programming during the pandemic, MDG later participated in a 2023 cultural exchange in Taiwan and received NCCA recognition in 2026 for its sustained advocacy. Today, the guild continues to innovate and share Filipino arts through dynamic live and digital platforms.
