The Sarimanok is a legendary mythical bird central to the culture of the Maranao people in Mindanao. According to legend, the bird descends from the heavens to facilitate the union of a prince and his moon goddess, marking the culmination of his search for love. The Maranao people maintain the belief that the Sarimanok continues to dwell among them, bestowing celestial blessings and good fortune.
