Sulyap-Sining: Mga Bulong ni Aling Maria is a 20-minute transdisciplinary performance showcasing the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) student as an artist-scholar (Ibarang). Set on Mt. Makiling, the narrative moves from “The Ascent,” highlighting the rigorous technical grit of various art disciplines, into “The Whispers of Aling Maria,” where the mountain’s legend inspires deep creative intuition. The performance culminates in a high-energy collective finale that merges traditional roots with contemporary sensibilities. Ultimately, it redefines the Ibarang as a cultural strategist bridging heritage and innovation, offering a visionary glimpse into the future of Philippine creative industries.
