SOMATOSONIC

Totality 2.0

September 11, 2026 (Friday) 1:00 – 1:30 PM

Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez – Auditorium

Totality 2.0 is an immersive, multi-sensory performance in three movements that pushes the boundaries of multidisciplinary art by fusing technology, sound, and movement. Totality 2.0 is technology-augmented sonic performance by the media group SOMATOSONIC, utilizing synthesizers, samplers and artist-made instruments to counterpoint movement, spoken word and sonified dance. The performance extrapolates a Pinofuturist vision of Philippine culture, using techniques of bricolage and improvisation to repurpose, extend, and augment existing objects and practices using technologies of synthesis, networking, and gestural control.

About the Artist

SOMATOSONIC is a Manila-based multidisciplinary art unit formed in 2023 by Christina Dy, Tad Ermitaño, and Marco Ortiga. The group merges visual art, sculpture, dance, and technology to create immersive hybrid performances that explore the relationship between human gesture and electronic systems. By utilizing artist-made instruments and sonified movement, they produce experimental works that push the boundaries of contemporary media art in the Philippines.
